Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Dining Room Manager or designate, the Dining Room Server is accountable to support all aspects of hospitality style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents in accordance with legislative requirements.
The Dining Room Server is required to perform their duties in a manner consistent with the core values and employee guiding principles, ensure resident safety and demonstrate customer service excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum Grade 10.
· Must have an excellent command of verbal and written English language skills.
· Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
· Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset.
· Proven customer service skills.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service
- Responsible for maintaining the dining room and bistro/café areas in a tour ready manner.
- Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef.
- Responsible for tray preparation/presentation.
- Carries out general cleaning duties and routines, including scraping, washing, stacking and storage of dishes.
- Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department.
- Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Follows all health and safety policies and procedures. Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers and residents.
- Wears personal protective equipment as designated.
- Maintains a clean, safe environment for residents utilizing infection control principles.Maintains a sound working knowledge of their role and responsibilities during all emergency situations when working different shifts.
- participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
