JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the registered dietitian in the provision of the overall nutritional care of each nursing home and residential care resident in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards and to ensure that the resident’s nutritional care coincides with medical treatment and all services provided to the resident. The secondary purpose of this position is to assist in quality assurance monitoring of the dietary department in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards to assure that each resident receives meals and nourishments which are nutritionally adequate, appetizing, safe for consumption, and served in the consistency best tolerated by the resident JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Responsible to: Administrator, clinically accountable to Corporate Dietitian Workers supervised: Dietary Staff Working contacts: Corporate Dietitian, dietary staff, Dietary Manager, interdisciplinary care team, residents, and families, EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Nutrition/Applied Science. EXPERIENCE: Registration with the Commission for Dietetic Registration required. Minimum 1 year experience in health care setting required. Knowledge of dietary procedures, as well as related laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to nursing homes. The ability to help plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Food Service Department under the direction of the Registered Dietitian and/or Administrator.
