Description

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of nutrition service and its application in promoting health and wellness. As a dietician, you will collaborate with residents to develop personalized nutrition plans, provide education on dietary choices, and support overall health goals. This role requires excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), a commitment to provide optimal nutritional resident care, and a proficiency in electronic medical records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field; Master’s degree an asset.
*Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) credential required.
*Experience in LTC with strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
*Proficiency in computer operation, including familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
*Strong analytical skills to assess resident needs and develop appropriate nutrition strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, monitor, and update nutritional needs and develop tailored meal plans based on individual health goals and conditions.
    *Provide counselling and education to resident’s, families and staff regarding dietary choices, food preparation, and healthy eating habits.
    *Collaborate with health care professionals including the facility Medical Director to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
    *Implement dietary measures with a long-term view of maintaining or improving a resident’s quality of life.
    *Maintain accurate records of resident interactions and progress including using electronic medical records system to document nutritional assessments.
    *Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions and adjust plans as necessary.
    *Stay updated on the latest research in nutrition and dietary guidelines to provide evidence-based recommendations.
    *Conduct group workshops, seminars or other education based on nutrition-related topics as needed.
    *Attend pharmacy committee meetings as required.
