Responsibilities

HOW THIS ROLE MAKES A DIFFERENCE

As a Dietitian you will be responsible for conducting client-centred individual education services empowering individuals to self-manage their condition.
You will become a valued member of our innovative Education Services team at the Institute. Through this key role, you can contribute to our vision to help people to live healthier for longer, and to stop heart disease and diabetes in their tracks.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Conduct individual clinical sessions and programs as rostered by the Director of Allied Health and Education Services in accordance with the relevant policies, procedures and lesson plans.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with clients and the ability to develop and maintain rapport.
  • Provide client-centred education empowering clients to self-manage their condition.
  • Ensure own knowledge and skills in the area of nutritional and dietetics for diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity are of a high standard and in accordance with current clinical guidelines.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the principles of quality improvement and participate in quality activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and data entry for internal and external reporting, including patient records, letters, appointments, services and weekly statistics.
  • Supervise students and ensure practices are in accordance to professional standards and competencies
