Your Opportunity:
This is an opportunity for a Dietitian I to join the Nutrition Services team working out of the Alberta Children’s Hospital. This position reports directly to the Nutrition Services Manager for Pediatrics & Eating Disorders in Calgary Zone. The casual Dietitian I will be responsible for the direct nutrition care for infants, children and/or adolescents with a wide variety of nutrition problems potentially in both inpatient and outpatient settings and/or mental health programs. Nutrition care may include consultation & care planning for nutrition support via enteral or parenteral means, oral diets and supplementation & diet progressions to optimize growth and development. This Dietitian will actively integrate patient-and family-centered care principles into practice; has excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrates critical thinking, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills; has excellent time management and prioritization skills; and maintains continuing professional and practice competencies through professional development activities. This dietitian will develop a strong background in providing & leading evidence-informed nutrition care.
Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.
