Your Opportunity:
This is an opportunity for you to become part of a dynamic nutrition team in the city of Medicine Hat. Known as Canada’s Sunniest City, our southern Alberta community averages 330 days of sunshine every year – great news for gardeners, golfers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Unique natural landscapes, historical sites, and plentiful recreational opportunities, shops, and restaurants mean this isn’t just a great place to visit – you can have a great lifestyle here. Medicine Hat is Alberta’s sixth largest city and offers an excellent quality of life that includes big-city amenities without big-city costs. Medicine Hat boasts seven golf courses, over 90 kilometers of paved recreational trails, 100 parks, and four water play parks. As a Population Public Health (PPH) Dietitian I reporting to the Manager, Nutrition Services South Zone you would be responsible for providing nutrition expertise to promote the health and well-being of our communities. Using population health promotion strategies, you will work in collaboration with zone public health teams, local community stakeholders, and provincial PPH Nutrition Services to identify and address priority nutrition issues, contribute to the development of programs, products and services, lead local implementation and evaluation activities, and participate in sustainability planning and continuous quality improvement. You would develop and disseminate consistent, accurate, evidence-based nutrition information to support the populations within your communities.
Description:
