JOB SUMMARY

The Home Office works to build a safe, fair and prosperous UK. We achieve this through our work on counter-terrorism, policing, crime, drugs policy, immigration and passports.
Home Office Digital, Data and Technology designs, builds and develops services for the rest of the department and for government. Every year our systems support up to 3 million visa applications, checks on 100 million border crossings, up to 8 million passport applications and deliver 140 million police checks on people, vehicles and property.
The Digital Adoption Lead plays a pivotal role within our Digital Adoption Team to support the Home Office wide adoption of digital products (Microsoft 365) through campaigns, promotions, communication, education, training and support aimed at increasing digital adoption across the Home Office.
You will use your expert knowledge and experience together with your strategic knowledge of the organisation to ensure the full realisation of digital dividends. You will lead the team helping to bridge the “digital gap” between the executive vision and user experience, providing direction to ensure the business objectives and product outcomes are aligned and measured for success.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Digital Adoption Lead, you will work collaboratively with strategic partners influencing to ensure their areas can take full advantage of opportunities to exploit existing digital tools to help solve current and future business problems and increase the return on investment. You will be able to position the adoption services to persuade business areas of the benefits of engaging with the adoption services. As part of the adoption approach, you will participate in the growing cross government digital adoption community.
You will keep abreast of the latest developments in the digital workplace technologies and change methodologies, including any knowledge, best practice and innovations from the cross government digital adoption community of experts.
This is a challenging and fast paced role, positioned at the heart of a dynamic and changing area of DDaT. You will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team on a number of high profile workstreams. This role will include direct line management of the Senior Digital Adoption Manager and countersigning manager for the Digital Adoption Manager.
These roles within DDaT are aligned to the Project Delivery Profession, for Project Delivery Professionals within Government.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

You will have a demonstrable passion for change management, with the following skills or proven experience in:

  • Working as a lead change manager in a large department or a complex organisation experience of using/delivering change through learning and development
  • Having a strong understanding of best practice change Management principles, methodologies, and tools, and applying them on projects and programmes.
  • Leading a team, building strong relationships, and providing guidance.
  • Having excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into easily digestible information, adapting your style to the audience.
  • Identifying and building strong relationships with key senior stakeholders, creating positive relationships in complex environments.
  • Having strong project management and organisational skills. Fully competent at planning, risk management and dependency management
  • Having a practitioner level understanding of Microsoft 365 applications
  • Relevant qualification, e.g. one of; APMG - Change Management, Change Management Institute ACMF (Accredited Change Manager Foundation); MSP Practitioner; Prosci ADKAR1 Model or equivalent.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will be:

  • Developing the clear vision and standards in the team, championing the use of best practice change management standards, tools and processes.
  • Building strong networks both internally and externally, including the cross government Digital Adoption Community to enable and promote the work of the Digital Adoption Team.
  • Mentoring, coaching and line managing the Digital Adoption team, building strong and open relationships across the team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify and deliver Digital Adoption projects, developing compelling business rationale for digital adoption which generates stakeholder engagement and sponsorship. Acting as a point of contact for senior stakeholders within projects.
  • Working with the team on Digital Adoption communications to ensure that adoption lands successfully across the organisation.
  • Leading on all Digital Adoption reporting requirements, including reporting requirements for the Head of Digital Adoption
  • Providing advice and guidance to team members to ensure high quality outputs are delivered across the team.
  • Leveraging your expertise to ensure learning and best practice from adoption projects are quickly shared to improve delivery and drive the consistent use of methodologies and practices.
