Réalta Technologies are seeking a highly motivated Digital Automation Engineer to define and drive the digital transformation roadmap at our clients site in Dublin.
This role will focus on evaluating the current digital landscape—including machine connectivity, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and historian platforms—and proposing innovative, future-proof digital solutions.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with both local site teams and global digital counterparts to ensure alignment with the client’s global digital strategy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in automation or digital roles within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of MES platforms, data historians (e.g., PI System / AVEVA), and machine connectivity protocols (OPC, MQTT, etc.).
  • Experience in developing or contributing to digital transformation strategies within a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms, Industry 4.0, and IIoT technologies is a strong advantage.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, including with global and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, GAMP5, data integrity, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Assess Current Systems: Review existing digital infrastructure across automation, MES, historian, and data connectivity platforms.
  • Digital Roadmap Development: Define a clear, site-specific digital strategy aligned with corporate objectives and global standards.
  • Technology Recommendations: Identify opportunities for new digital rollouts, such as advanced analytics, IIoT, edge connectivity, and integration with enterprise systems.
  • Collaboration: Act as the key liaison between the Dublin site and the global digital team, ensuring harmonization of strategy and execution.
  • Project Support: Support the implementation of new digital initiatives, providing technical guidance on system architecture, data integration, and validation requirements.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all digital initiatives comply with GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity standards, and corporate policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor digital performance metrics and recommend optimizations to maximize efficiency, data availability, and decision-making capability.
