Position Overview The Digital Bindery Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of bindery equipment to complete the final stages of the print production process. This includes folding, cutting, stitching, trimming, binding, and packaging printed materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced in operating commercial bindery equipment. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and maintain bindery equipment, including folders, cutters, saddle stitchers, collators, and perfect binders. Review job tickets and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality throughout the production process. Inspect finished materials for quality control and adherence to customer specifications. Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to minimize downtime. Collaborate with press operators and production staff to maintain workflow efficiency. Package, label, and prepare completed materials for shipment or delivery. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards. Accurately record production data, machine settings, and job outcomes. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum 2 years of bindery or finishing experience in a commercial printing environment. High School diploma or equivalent required. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, job tickets, and production instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and crouch throughout the shift. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Regular use of hands to operate machinery and handle printed materials. Performance Expectations Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and on schedule. Maintain consistent quality and accuracy across all work. Demonstrate initiative, reliability, and a proactive work ethic. Communicate effectively with team members and management.
