KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Join GDS – the digital heart of government – as a Digital Capability Senior Communities and Engagement Manager and drive high-profile strategies that shape the future of public services across the UK. We’re looking for a dynamic and creative professional to lead impactful campaigns, craft compelling narratives, and elevate the profile of digital and data capability in Government at a national scale. As a Senior Communities and Engagement Manager you will:
Drive the execution of high-impact initiatives within the Capability and Workforce community strategy, from compelling content and strategic press engagement to dynamic social media, impactful events, and insightful audience analysis.
Contribute directly to achieving the Prime Minister’s ambitious target of 1 in 10 civil servants working in digital roles by 2030, through your strategic engagement initiatives.
Support the Programme Delivery Manager with engaging the cross-government Government Digital and Data communities and work towards the Elevate
Leadership, invest in talent objectives set out in the blueprint for modern digital government
Lead on the design, delivery and continuous evaluation of a key engagement strand of the Government Digital and Data Capability and Workforce team strategy and plan, producing or coordinating the creation of accessible content and narratives with impact. Ensure reporting of delivery against the strategy to senior leaders in GDS.
Engage with the 30,000+ members of the Government Digital and Data profession, building connections, gathering insights, and fostering a strong sense of community across departments.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across government to agree and align on shared messaging for the Government Digital and Data
Capability and Workforce team as well as gain buy-in for delivering the six-point plan for public sector digital reform
Collaborate dynamically with GDS and DSIT teams, ensuring all activities are underpinned by robust, agile plans aligned with our engagement strategy. You’ll expertly manage urgent priorities and emerging needs.
Support with the organisation and promotion of a calendar of virtual, in person, regional and London-based, cross-government, events and community meetings
Strengthen cross-government engagement, and lead on the Government Digital and Data Capability and Workforce monthly newsletter.
