Mō te tūranga | About the role We are looking for an experienced Digital Channels Advisor to join our Organisational Communications Team. If you've got experience with SharePoint and digital content, and understand the role an intranet has in making sure our people stay connected to our strategic direction, organisation, senior leaders and each other, then we want to hear from you. You'll be working across the Organisational Communications team to support our internal customers, developing and publishing quality, accessible, up-to-date content to a wide range of channels and our intranet. The position will be focussed on: Managing content including providing advice, guidance and final quality assurance on all intranet content Identifying opportunities for content, usability, and accessibility enhancements Developing engaging digital and multimedia content that brings to life our strategic direction Supporting the team leader to develop the channels strategy Training and assisting staff to create, edit, publish and maintain accurate, timely, high quality, customer-focused content for DOC’s intranet and digital platforms Monitoring the performance of content, reporting on this, and identifying ways to improve. This is a full-time, fixed term role until 27 November 2026, based in Conservation House in Wellington. Other locations may be considered for the right candidate. Click here for the Role Description Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience We're looking for someone with experience working with Sharepoint, intranet, newsletters and engagement via Teams, and who can champion plain English. You’ll be a self-starter who can provide advice and develop engaging digital content to support internal comms initiatives and projects. If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you: Practical experience with Sharepoint Demonstrated experience in online content creation and publishing, with proven ability to create content that is engaging, accessible and usable Excellent written and oral communication skills, including attention to detail, writing, editing and proofreading Ability to develop, implement and evaluate digital strategy, standards, policies, processes and procedures Knowledge of digital content best practices, including writing for different audiences, plain English search engine optimisation, and accessibility Experience in using analytics to make actionable recommendations for improvement Excellent time management skills – able to handle multiple competing projects and tasks without supervision Proven ability to quickly establish and maintain strong working relationships, and give feedback Desirable: Basic graphic design experience would be useful Knowledge of te reo Māori and tikanga Video and photography skills Experience with user research and testing Mō te tīma | About the team The Internal Digital Channels Team is part of the Organisational Communications Team, which sits within the Strategic Communications and Engagement group. The team are trusted expert advisors in best practice organisational communications and engagement, providing strategic communications advice and support senior leaders and key clients. The salary range for this position is $68,878 to $87,265 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
