The UC Irvine Libraries physical spaces consist of the Langson Library, the Science Library, the Library Gateway Study Center, and the Grunigen Medical Library.
The Libraries’ IT Department is primarily responsible for all technical operations in the Libraries including desktop support, application development, server/service administration, and cloud computing services. The department also has responsibilities in cybersecurity, backups, administration of the Libraries Services Platform (library catalog) and database administration.
Responsibilities:
This role specifically focuses on ensuring accessibility compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards for UCI Libraries[CC1.1] sites and services, in alignment with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Applies QA and / or Release Management concepts, training, unit policies and procedures to test a variety of moderately complex accessibility changes or enhancements. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced digital communications professional for a variety of non-routine and moderately complex web site applications, ensuring accessibility compliance. Demonstrates a full understanding of industry practices and organization policies and procedures. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to accessibility needs for the Libraries.
