Title: Digital Content Creator
Department: Marketing & Communications
Reports To: Sr. Digital Marketing Manager
Starting Pay: $18/hour, non-exempt, full-time with benefits
Location: Hybrid, Louisville KY area

JOB SUMMARY:

The Digital Content Creator brainstorms, conceptualizes, plans, captures, and manages the production of a range of unique and compelling video and photo assets. This position is responsible for high-level coordination and scheduling to create and implement consistent, impactful video, photo, and motion content tied to the organization’s strategic goals. The Digital Content Creator also works as an active member of the marketing team, planning, scripting and storyboarding, as well as directing. They will also work as an editor to finalize content and manage distribution on Kentucky Performing Arts’ social media channels.

EDUCATION, LICENSE, AND SKILLS:

  • 2-3+ years of relevant in-house or agency experience.
  • Associate’s degree and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred in television, radio, film, sound or other new media arenas.
  • Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates expertise in video marketing and storytelling.
  • Proven exceptional attention to detail and visual problem-solving skills. Self-Motivated, organized, and accountable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of adhering to and implementing brand guidelines.
  • Familiarity with professional cameras and prosumer camcorders, various HD and SD formats, preproduction/planning, studio and field production, lighting/grip, scriptwriting, storyboarding and photography
  • Familiarity with content requirements for various digital placements, including organic and paid media
  • Familiarity with audio devices small format mixers, compression, EQ, effects processors, audio recording techniques for studio and field, multi-track and waveform editing.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative post-production digital video editing software, motion graphics design, and video compression for multiple delivery platforms.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, as evidenced by a portfolio of work
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines, to work as part of a team or independently, and to solve roadblocks and address issues. Ability to quickly adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Proven ability to take the lead on projects.
  • Valid US Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and develop multimedia (audio/video/photo) content for customer stories, internal company announcement videos, external promotional social videos, education and community storytelling, product marketing videos, fundraising videos, and other enterprise-wide projects.
  • Attend designated KPA events, which may occur evenings and weekends, to capture photos and videos.
  • Script, storyboard, allocate resources, set deadlines and select optimal forms of media for projects.
  • Plan video shoots: scout, select and reserve filming locations.
  • Develop production schedules.
  • Direct and coach talent.
  • Record and edit video, photo, and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, media management and archiving project media.
  • Manage photo/video library.
  • Create and implement social media video content, and meet deadlines as established on social media calendar

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with the Senior Digital Marketing Manager and VP of Marketing to ensure alignment of project objectives for the KPA organization.
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team, to establish project deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with internal clients and stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content.
  • Reserve and rent equipment, if necessary.
  • Edit and localize external marketing materials.
  • Works with Project Managers as needed to ensure jobs are tracked and delivered to client on time.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of Kentucky Performing Arts while understanding and complying with company expectations, policies, and procedures.
  • Adapts well to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions with a positive and open mindset. Communicates clearly, consistently, respectfully, and collaboratively when communicating on behalf of KPA.
  • Participates in all appropriate internal and external meetings, as well as professional development programs to maintain competency and increase acumen.
  • Effectively manages financial and physical resources to achieve the mission and goals of KPA.
  • Occasional on-the-clock travel is required, both driving and air travel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in all internal and external relationships for all essential job functions.
  • Above average skills in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move approximately 30 pounds unassisted with appropriate lifting techniques and/or devices.
