This role is classified as Level 2 (annual base salary ($68,239 - $75,000) under SBS Australia’s current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Good knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Adobe Analytics & Tableau
  • Familiarity with database architecture such as AWS and Snowflake
  • Proficient SQL & Python
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills
  • Experience working within data enablement teams handling a wide range of audience data
  • The ability to translate analysis into insights based on an understanding of audience behaviours, product roadmaps and overarching business strategy
  • The ability to convert business questions into researchable hypothesis in order to supply or workshop data-driven responses
  • An eye for detail and a deep fluency in quantitative analysis with a passion for using data to communicate and drive product and content outcomes
  • Ability to work both independently and within an agile team environment
  • Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills, particularly at explaining complex quantitative information to non-technical audiences & LOTE (language other than English) stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Reporting into the Data Science Lead in the Audience Data & Analytics team this role will see you provide reporting and analysis support across the company, with a particular focus on Audio and Language Content. 

The purpose of this role is to provide data analysis and reporting support to our product teams to help them understand our audience behaviours. This role will work across all of SBS’s diverse and varied digital products and will play a vital role in providing insights to the 60 language teams who provide multilingual and multicultural broadcasting to the Australian community. The perfect candidate will be exposed to a number of reporting tools and methods and will have the flexibility to innovate and build up existing workflows and processes.

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to design, develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards
  • Innovate on existing workflows to deliver efficient and timely reports across several data providers and databases
  • Translating analysis into insights and communicating those insights to non-technical stakeholders through written, verbal or visual means
  • Conduct analysis and deep dives to make recommendations to business initiatives and collaborate with key stakeholders at various management levels
  • Be an internal subject matter expert for radio and podcasting data
  • Being a point of contact between internal stakeholders and any third-party data providers
  • Identify, recommend and implement data collection, data capability & data quality improvements and automations
  • Utilising Machine Learning models to provide classification and predictive analysis in collaborative investigations with stakeholders
