Description

TAKE YOUR CAREER FURTHER WITH A SERVICE THAT PUTS PEOPLE FIRST.

Being part of Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) isn’t just about fighting fires—it’s about also making a difference through innovation, technology and collaboration. We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Digital Developer to help shape our digital future, supporting our front-line Firefighters and Support Teams with high-performing software solutions.
This is your chance to apply your skills where it really matters by helping create and maintain systems that support our critical emergency response and community safety work. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real difference all the while growing your career, CFRS could be the perfect place for you.

Responsibilities

This isn’t your average developer role. Every day at CFRS brings new challenges, from working on automation projects that streamline our service operations to enhancing integrations between front-line teams, support functions, and external partners.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Build robust and scalable solutions using C#, SSIS and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) as well as working with IBM Business Process Management (BPM) and M365 tools (including MS Power Apps and MS Power Automate) to improve efficiency across the service.
  • Develop, maintain, and integrate Web Services and APIs, helping us connect and enhance third-party applications.
  • Solve complex technical challenges in collaboration with our Development Team, ensuring our systems meet both operational and strategic needs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across CFRS, understanding their requirements and delivering solutions that make a real difference to how we work.
  • Uphold best practices in development, ensuring consistency, high standards, and quality across all our digital projects.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and user guides, helping support teams and end-users get the most from our systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an agile, dynamic environment, supporting a service that truly impacts the community.
