Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Digital Development Manager - Engineering is accountable for driving the success of our engineering teams within the Digital Platform. Reporting to the Head of Omni Platform, you will lead, mentor and grow a team of engineers supporting various applications across the domain, managing and optimising the development process, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Furthermore, you will act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders across Digital & Technology and the business, providing technical guidance and translating technical requirements into scalable, service-aligned delivery outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of software developers, championing best practice and consistent development outcomes addressing quality, testing, security, and documentation.
  • Identifying new ways of working to improve the technology delivery and development services and leading the ongoing development of existing applications and the design and delivery of new applications across SRG.
  • Regularly assessing system performance, conducting diagnostics, and implementing optimizations to ensure efficient operation and response times.
  • Working with Architecture team on solutioning & long-term engineering strategy, designing for scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Setting standards for code quality, security, and platform stability, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Working with stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals & client needs.
  • Collaborating with product, design, and data teams to drive the development of new features for our core insurance platform.
  • Supporting and guiding the team in incident response and troubleshooting, focusing on robust monitoring and logging.

THIS ROLE OFFERS THE FLEXIBILITY TO BE BASED IN EITHER BRISBANE (STRATHPINE) OR SYDNEY (RHODES), WITH A HYBRID WORK MODEL.

About you

Preferred:

  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud and retail experience.
  • Strong understanding of web performance optimisation techniques, SEO fundamentals, and headless architecture.
  • Familiarity with React, APIs, and headless commerce.
