Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Digital Device Repair Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside an experienced technician, learning how to diagnose, repair, and refurbish a variety of digital devices. You will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced repair environment while developing technical skills and customer service expertise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT EXHAUSTIVE AND MAY CHANGE):

  • Receive and book in devices for repair using a fully integrated POS system.
  • Diagnose and identify faults in digital devices, including hardware and software issues.
  • Carry out efficient and cost-effective repairs to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Perform stock checks on all parts and accurately record repair progress.
  • Support sustainability efforts by refurbishing devices to a high standard for resale.
  • Ensure that unrepairable devices are recycled or disposed of correctly.
  • Handle customer inquiries both in-store and via social media to assist with repairs and transactions.
  • Report challenging situations, such as difficult repairs or customer complaints, to a supervisor.
  • Stay up to date with the latest repair techniques and equipment.
  • Assess when a repair is uneconomical (e.g., water damage) and suggest alternatives like data recovery or transfer.
