Digital Electronics Design Engineer (m/f/d)
As part of the Electronic Systems department at OHB, you will be responsible for the design and testing of advanced electronic units for satellites. These units process high-resolution image data and sensor signals, control high-precision motors, and actively reduce mechanical vibrations, all while operating in the extreme conditions of space. Your Tasks

  • Design digital and mixed-signal electronic circuits for high-speed signal acquisition, image processing, and control systems based on FPGAs
  • Develop high-speed interfaces and circuits using multi-gigabit serial links
  • Verify performance through simulations, including worst-case, derating, and signal integrity analyses
  • Supervise the layout of multi-layer and rigid-flex High-Rel PCBs
  • Conduct testing and validation of your circuits in the lab, as well as under extreme conditions during qualification and acceptance campaigns
  • Collaborate closely with specialists from mechanical design, radiation engineering, EEE parts engineering, manufacturing, and FPGA development

Your Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
  • Solid experience in digital electronics design using FPGAs, and familiarity with high-speed digital interface standards (e.g., JESD204, DDR, PCI, Wizard Link)
  • Good understanding of analog electronics, including high-speed ADCs and analog front ends
  • Experience in electronics development for space applications according to ECSS standards
  • Knowledge of spacecraft communication protocols such as SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553, and SpaceFibre
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language for test automation (e.g., Python or C/C++)
  • Experience with ECAD tools and simulation software (e.g., Mentor PADS Professional, SPICE, HyperLynx)Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
