As part of a university-wide transformation, we are modernising application systems and infrastructure, migrating our websites to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and instrumenting web and mobile journeys with Adobe Analytics (AA). Insights from these platforms will power data-driven decision-making across channels. We are seeking a Digital Experience Specialist - a design‑minded technologist with strengths in customer journey design, graphic design, interaction programming, and proficiency with modern design tools - to craft intuitive, beautiful, and measurable experiences. You’ll broaden your web development exposure while deepening expertise in enterprise‑grade content management, social media management, and analytics platforms widely adopted by leading enterprises. If you thrive at the intersection of design, data, and code, we’d love to hear from you. Responsibilities: Participate in website and digital experience projects - from discovery and ideation through design, development, testing, and rollout - following the Digital Experience Services Team’s processes; Translate business goals and user needs into clear customer journeys, information architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes; plan and run usability testing and synthesise insights; Design pixel‑accurate UI and motion/interaction patterns that are on brand, inclusive, and intuitive; produce design assets and specifications for implementation; Build accessible, responsive, and performant front-end experiences using HTML5, CSS/Sass, and JavaScript/TypeScript; implement micro‑interactions and ensure cross‑browser compatibility; Develop AEM components, templates, content/experience fragments, and authoring workflows; model content for reuse; integrate AEM Assets (DAM) and ensure metadata/taxonomy hygiene; Turn data into action: create dashboards and insight reports; run A/B tests and personalisation (e.g., Adobe Target/Optimisely); recommend and implement optimisations; Support multi-site and multilingual operations: content governance, localisation workflows, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and brand consistency across channels; Collaborate with stakeholders (students, faculty, administrators) to collect requirements empathetically, propose solution options, and manage expectations; and Perform ad-hoc IT projects and assignments as directed. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Creative Media, Marketing, Communications, Business Management, or a related discipline; 2-3 years of hands-on experience in UX/UI and website development, with a portfolio that demonstrates customer journey design, interaction design, and measurable outcomes; Front-end proficiency: HTML5, CSS3 (and preprocessors such as Sass/Less), modern JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with at least one framework/library (e.g., React, Vue, Angular); responsive/mobile-first design; cross-browser compatibility; familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG); Content management systems: experience with Adobe Experience Manager (preferred) or WordPress, Drupal, Joomla; understanding of content modeling, templates/components, and publishing workflows; Design and prototyping: fluency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD; graphic and motion design using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and optionally After Effects; journey mapping and wireframing tools such as Miro, Lucidchart, or Balsamiq; Analytics and optimisation: Adobe Analytics (preferred) or Google Analytics 4; tag management via Adobe Launch or Google Tag Manager; dashboarding with Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau; A/B testing and personalisation using Adobe Target, Optimisely, or VWO; SEO and performance: working knowledge of on-page SEO, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility best practices; experience with tools such as Lighthouse, WebPageTest, Screaming Frog, or Semrush; Strong communication skills: good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage; and Personal attributes: self-starter, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
