JOB SUMMARY
Working in a digital forensic laboratory, you’ll play an important role in the acquisition and subsequent analysis and examination of an array of digital devices; securing and preserving digital data, to produce reports and provide evidence, in support of Agency investigations. We also support local forces and national / international partner agencies.
We are seeking experienced digital forensic practitioners who are able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of digital forensic processes and procedures in a laboratory environment, looking for the next challenge of their career.
You will also help contribute to continuous improvement across the department, also with an expectation of keeping up to date with crime trends and technologies.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Working closely with digital forensic operations officers and investigation teams alike, you will have the opportunity to drive innovation in order to change the way we operate. Providing specialist advice and guidance on digital forensic opportunities, you will ensure requirements are captured and delivered to our quality standards. You will undertake live and dead box data recovery from a wide range of devices, supporting criminal investigations whilst maintaining evidential integrity and compliance with ISO 17025.
Working within the digital forensic team, you will efficiently support national and international operations and projects, often providing critical dynamic support. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop within digital forensics and play a key part in shaping the future capabilities of the unit.
This role requires individuals to have an active interest in evolving technologies, who can maintain and develop their technical skillset, knowledge and awareness of the rapidly advancing technology and digital forensic landscapes.
At the NCA, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment. We welcome neurodivergent thinkers and offer reasonable adjustments to those who need them.
The department responds to a broad range of threats across the serious and organised crime landscape bringing challenges, that often require ground breaking techniques and tools at the forefront of technical developments.
Although this post is laboratory based there will be some requirement to travel throughout the UK, and potentially internationally; sometimes at short-notice, involving some anti-social/long hours.
