WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in performance marketing or paid media in ecommerce or retail
  • Proven track record managing campaigns across paid search, paid social and remarketing channels
  • Strong knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Google Merchant Center, and audience segmentation tools
  • Experience managing six-figure monthly budgets and optimising for ROI & profitability
  • Ability to manage multiple campaign types (acquisition, retention, win-back) with precision
  • Commercial mindset with clear understanding of key ecommerce KPIs and campaign profitability
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to align campaigns to brand and product direction
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using tools like GA4 and Looker Studio
  • Proactive, data-driven, and constantly looking for ways to improve

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Platypus Shoe’s is looking for a performance marketing expert to join our digital team on a 12-month contract. In this role, you’ll lead the strategy and execution of paid media across ecommerce and marketing campaigns, driving new customer acquisition and retention, optimising spends, and delivering strong, profitable results.
You’ll work closely with the Marketing and Digital teams, reporting to the Head of Digital, in an individual contributor capacity with no direct reports. Your focus will be on ensuring campaigns are effective end-to-end—from audience targeting to delivering a seamless onsite experience in collaboration with the digital team. You’ll also contribute to SEO strategy and guidance, ensuring alignment between paid and organic channels to maximise performance.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Lead the planning, execution and optimisation of paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, TikTok and other platforms
  • Manage budgets across channels, ensuring efficient spend and strong ROI
  • Build and activate audience segments using our CDP (Amperity) to support acquisition, retention and win-back strategies
  • Own Google Merchant Centre, managing product feeds and optimising shopping campaigns
  • Work closely with Marketing to align campaigns with key brand, product, and trade priorities
  • Partner with the Digital team to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer journey
  • Collaborate with affiliate partners and identify new scalable performance opportunities
  • Continuously test and optimise audiences, creatives, bidding strategies and landing pages
  • Report on profitability, ecommerce revenue, ROAS and CPA using GA4 and Looker Studio
  • Support the Digital team on SEO best practices, ensuring alignment across paid and organic
  • Deliver clear campaign reporting and insights to stakeholders
  • Stay across industry trends and platform changes to keep performance efforts future-focused
