OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dynamic individual, experienced in digital health applications, to join our exciting programme to develop IT solutions to a major problem in cancer treatment.
In the last decade immunotherapy has revolutionised treatment for certain cancers and the therapy is increasingly being used in many other cancers and earlier in the cancer treatment pathway. However, in many patients, the great benefits of immunotherapy can be accompanied by unwanted toxicity or side effects which can be serious and even life-threatening. The E-IMMUNE Programme (funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research) will develop an optimised digital health approach to management of this toxicity, rigorously testing the new approach in a randomised clinical trial. If successful, we aim to roll out this new approach throughout the NHS and beyond.
The Digital Health IT Coordinator role is a key post to provide the support needed to ensure timely and effective progress in the Programme, and maximum coordination across our multidisciplinary team, drawn from the University of Sheffield, and collaborating partners in other Universities, in two NHS Trusts (Sheffield and Leeds) and in the IT industry (Itecho Health Ltd in Leeds). You will be instrumental in supporting the successful development, integration, testing and deployment of a remote monitoring software platform (called Ascelus) to support the clinical management of patients undergoing immunotherapy treatment. You will collaborate closely with clinicians, patients, researchers, developers, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the platform. Your responsibilities will include managing the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, coordinating system integrations, and supporting data governance and compliance. Additionally, you will play a key role in training and supporting users, as well as identifying opportunities for future innovation and improvement.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of healthcare technology, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that can significantly impact patient care. You will have the chance to work with a talented team of professionals and collaborate with leading experts in the field.
