THE OPPORTUNITY:
Are you a 2 nd , 3 rd or penultimate-year undergraduate University of Edinburgh student, with the ability to think innovatively and creatively to solve problems? Are you creative, with strong attention to detail and effective organisational skills?
We are looking for an intern to work closely with Careers Service staff and students to audit existing materials, analyse student experiences and interests, and design a suite of engaging, creative informational resources that will motivate students to engage with career thinking.
The outcome of this project will significantly inform the Careers Service’s work in producing engaging materials on current careers and employability topics. By incorporating the perspective of a student employee in developing these resources, we anticipate gaining valuable insights.
As part of this internship, you will gain hands-on experience designing and creating a range of engaging informational materials, developing your research, problem-solving, communication, teamwork and analytical skills. This is also a great opportunity to develop project-management and decision-making skills as well as an understanding of careers and employability information, which you can apply to your own career thinking and planning.
This internship is part of the Employ.ed on Campus programme (opens new browser tab) , which is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with University Departments and Schools. It offers exclusive summer internships at the University over the summer for 2 nd year to penultimate-year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. You cannot take part if you are a visiting student or if you have already taken part in the programme before.
As well as great work experience, the Careers Service provides supporting resources. This is combined with a framework to support the development of participants’ employability and self-reflection with an Edinburgh Award (opens new browser tab) as part of the internship.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering hybrid working that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
