Department: 36300 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Administration: Radiology Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 5-8 hour shifts Pay Range $20.40 - $30.60 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Basic computer knowledge, skills and experience. Medical terminology and basic anatomy preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Ensures that requests for patient information are fulfilled. Assists with locating files, printing film of soft copy images or creating a CD of soft copy images. 2. Maintains complete and accurate patient files by monitoring PACS database for patient/image accuracy. Assists with correcting unverified studies. Patient confidentiality is maintained to protect patient rights. 3. Outside exams are uploaded into our PACS system for review/comparison purposes. Proper personnel are notified when CDs from outside facilities are not compatible with our PACS system. 4. Ensures exams are dictated in a timely manner by monitoring the completed exams report and performing appropriate actions to obtain interpretations by radiologist. Problem exams are researched and appropriate action is taken to resolve issue. 5. Maintains effective communication with customers. Greets and offers assistance, providing appropriate information in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Answers telephone and takes messages. 6. Monitors retrieval requests and processes queues for all clinical departments that are using soft copy images for primary review. 7. Maintains knowledge and skill of appropriate equipment to ensure proper use and efficiency of duties performed.
