Description

About Volta Group
At Volta Group, we’re not just another digital marketing company. We’re a marketing management and consulting partner for businesses that want more than campaigns – they want strategy, clarity, and results. Based in Birmingham, we support a diverse portfolio of clients across industries, helping them navigate the ever-changing digital landscape with confidence.
Our culture is collaborative, ambitious, and people-focused. We believe great ideas come from great teams, and we’re committed to investing in our people as much as we do our clients. If you’re looking for a place where your creativity meets strategy, and where your career can grow with genuine purpose, Volta Group might be your next step.
The Role
We are seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to join our team full-time, based at our Birmingham office. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, is commercially minded, and has the ability to turn marketing strategy into measurable impact.
As our Digital Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for leading digital campaigns, managing client relationships, and overseeing a small but growing team of specialists. You’ll act as the bridge between creativity and performance, making sure our clients’ digital presence is not just active, but impactful.
This role is perfect for someone who is ready to step up, take ownership, and make their mark in a growing company where ideas are welcomed, not stifled.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and optimise digital marketing strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels.
  • Lead on campaign planning, from research and idea generation to delivery and reporting.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Partner with clients to understand their goals, translate them into strategies, and report on results with clarity.
  • Monitor campaign performance using analytics tools (Google Analytics, social media insights, CRM dashboards).
  • Manage paid advertising budgets and drive ROI through Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn campaigns, etc.
  • Stay ahead of digital trends and proactively introduce new ideas, platforms, or tactics that could benefit clients.
  • Coordinate with design, content, and consulting teams to ensure campaigns are integrated and consistent.

Requirements

MUST-HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a digital marketing role, with proven campaign management experience.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, PPC, social media advertising, and content marketing.
  • Confident with Google Analytics, Ads Manager, and related tools.
  • Excellent communication skills — both with clients and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A balance of creativity with data-driven decision making.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Previous agency or consultancy experience.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Basic design or UX knowledge to collaborate effectively with creative teams.
  • Experience mentoring or managing a small team.
  • An interest in emerging tech and AI in marketing.
What We Offer (Beyond the Basics)

At Volta Group, we know that talented professionals expect more than just a payslip. That’s why we’re proud to offer:

  • Competitive Salary (£38,000 – £45,000 depending on experience).
  • Monthly Performance Bonuses tied to both individual and company performance.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, with the option to buy additional leave.
  • Quarterly well-being allowance (e.g., gym memberships, therapy, fitness classes).
  • Professional development budget – courses, certifications, conferences, and training of your choice.
  • Structured career growth pathway – with clear steps for progression into senior leadership roles.
  • On-site perks – modern offices in Birmingham city centre, creative breakout spaces, and excellent coffee.
  • Regular team socials and strategy retreats to celebrate wins and shape the future of the company together.

The Application & Interview Process

We believe transparency matters, so here’s what you can expect:

  • Application – Submit your CV and a tailored cover letter explaining why you’d be a great fit for Volta Group.
  • Initial Screening Call – A short, informal conversation with our People & Culture team (20–30 minutes).
  • First Interview – Meet with our Marketing Director and a senior consultant. We’ll talk about your experience, approach to campaigns, and career ambitions.
  • Practical Task – A short, role-relevant task (e.g., creating a mini-strategy or campaign review). This helps us see your skills in action.
  • Final Interview – In-person at our Birmingham office. This stage is about cultural fit, collaboration style, and meeting some of the wider team.
  • Decision – We aim to provide feedback within one week of the final stage.

Our process is designed to be respectful of your time and to give you a real sense of what it’s like to work at Volta Group.
