TITLE: Digital Marketing Officer
MAIN LOCATION: Hybrid - Based at Contact but may be required to work at other Manchester locations as required
RESPONSIBLE TO: Communications and Marketing Manager

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The Digital Content Officer is responsible for producing engaging, high-quality digital and social media content across Contact’s website and online platforms. This role plays a key part in telling the story of Contact – showcasing our theatre productions, participation projects, commercial activity, and the journeys of the young people and artists we work with.
Using tools such as social media, email marketing, and website updates, the Digital Content Officer helps to increase awareness, grow audiences, and support ticket sales and other forms of engagement. Working closely with teams across the organisation, they will also support and encourage staff and young creatives to contribute to content creation. This role offers the opportunity to develop new skills and shape aspects of the role around the post-holder’s interests, in line with the organisation’s goals.

MAIN TASKS

  • Oversee Contact’s social media channels, creating and scheduling compelling content that drives engagement, footfall and ticket sales, replying to messages and sharing relevant external content.
  • Create compelling and accessible written and visual content using software including Canva and the Adobe suite, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines
  • Maintain mailing lists and plan, write and schedule regular newsletters in line with Contact’s programme of events
  • Act as ‘Brand Guardian’ ensuring that all communications are visually on brand as well as on message, representing Contact’s mission, vision and brand values
  • Work with the Communications & Marketing Manager and Sales and Audiences Manager to produce and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy, including website updates, email marketing and external advertising
    Support all Contact staff and supported artists to engage with content creation and distribution, including channel take-overs. port and where appropriate train young people across Contacts projects and programmes to create and distribute digital content.
