The Marketing lead takes a hands-on approach in leading CMI Solar’s marketing strategies and programs, focusing on demand generation, sales enablement, and brand awareness. Thriving in a hybrid, fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Marketing lead oversees the successful creation, development, and execution of all marketing efforts.

The Role:

  • Reviewing current marketing trends and advertisements to determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies
  • Analyzing sales numbers in comparison to the marketing budget in order to find the profit margin and which campaigns were most effective
  • Working with the Sales Team to develop successful strategies and campaigns that attract new customers
  • Collaborating with the executive team to make high-level decisions regarding the budget and the direction of the company
  • Creating and maintaining a successful brand and image that attracts new customers
  • Developing marketing strategies for new products or services
  • Generating traffic through proficiency in marketing automation and CRM tools to convert visitors into leads and customers for our sales team
  • Developing and implementing a cohesive marketing strategy including objectives and goals to support growth and increase brand awareness
  • Exploring and recommending new initiatives to support department and company objectives
  • Driving all Marketing initiatives across the organization
  • Focusing on effectively increasing margins by balancing objectives of growth and profitability through effective product management
  • Managing and completing spontaneous internal requests alongside marketing plans you propose and implement
  • Owning multiple projects at once while maintaining a high level of detail, sense of urgency, and ownership to “get it done” by handling timelines with both internal and external partners
  • Leading the enhancement of our online presence and website(s)
  • Ensuring Marketing projects meet deadlines and providing clear communications to stakeholders
  • Aligning Marketing events to company strategy
  • Conceptualizing and supporting the execution of multi-channel campaigns across the prospect and customer lifecycle, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels
  • Creating marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and other sales enablement tools
  • Overseeing and supporting content creation across digital platforms, blogs, and print channels
  • Executing and managing email marketing campaigns using platforms such as Mailchimp to engage customers and drive conversions
  • Staying current with market trends, product capabilities, and changes to our products and services
  • Forecasting, drafting, implementing, and overseeing the Marketing department budget
  • Communicating with all key stakeholders on changes
  • Overseeing content creation and targeted customer strategies
  • Aligning with Sales Leadership to drive customer retention initiatives
  • Supporting with all other duties as assigned by manager

Location: Hybrid remote/in-person (Mississauga)

Required Skills/Proficiencies:

  • 4+ years of marketing experience ( preferred in the solar/renewable energy field)
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic marketing plans
  • Successful experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and vendor partners
  • Ability to communicate effectively with partners at all levels, especially senior leadership
  • Ability to act as a flexible and innovative team player with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and a hands-on approach
  • Ability to manage time effectively and be focused on setting and executing clear objectives and priorities
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Creative, Canva, Mailchimp
