Description:

SC Department of Commerce is seeking a Digital Media Designer that would be responsible for the maintenance and optimization of agency websites to ensure the effective delivery of timely, accurate information ensuring an efficient and positive end-user experience.
Develop, maintain and update as needed an agency website strategy and conduct an annual review of all content and related metrics, to optimize agency website to ensure an efficient and positive end-user experience.
Coordinate the redesign of the agency’s website and consolidation of ancillary sites to include developing a content review structure to determine whether existing content should be carried over to the redesigned site.
Work with Director and Deputy Directors of Marketing and Communications to develop website content strategies that align with the agency’s goals and target audience.
Continually maintain all content and copy on the agency’s websites to include the review and deployment of content that is accurate and in line with agency branding and messaging.
Conduct independent research and consultation with subject matter experts to write, design and deliver compelling website copy and content to support the agency’s various divisions and goals.
Utilize a method to track and compile relevant website analytics and distribute in appropriate cadence to division leadership.
Provide cross-functional support for agency’s social media presence including developing targeted campaigns.
Supports with planning and execution of division events and performs other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and relevant experience. An associate degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience. Must be able to create, deploy and maintain clear, effective, and compelling web copy with a strong working knowledge of grammar, composition and style.
Must have website content creation and management experience. Must have multi-website platform experience (Drupal preferred). Must have expertise and maintain fluency in implementing current website design and maintenance best practices and principles. Must be detailed-oriented and able to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines and adjusting to last-minute changes to deadlines.
