Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The IPA is seeking a Digital Media Production Assistant to work with the Director of Digital Content & Production to produce and edit content including videos and podcasts in our state-of-the-art purpose-built media studio. The content you create will tell the story of freedom, liberalism and human-flourishing and in doing so you will expand the IPA’s digital output and reach and disseminate its important research.
As the IPA always strives for success, only apply for this role if you are dynamic and enthusiastic. You must be able to work collaboratively, and do not get frustrated over constant changes. You will be someone who always goes above and beyond, and isn’t satisfied until your “internal client” is completely happy with the finished product.
While relevant industry experience is preferred, an opportunity exists for an enthusiastic candidate who is willing to work hard to establish themselves in this field.

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in the filming and editing of content tailored for specific audiences and formats including podcasts, short and long videos that will be distributed across a variety of digital platforms and channels including web, social (Facebook, X and Instagram), podcast platforms and YouTube.
  2. Assist in the media studio with camera operation, lighting, sound and set design.
  3. Assist in developing other materials such as sound and music composition.
  4. Organise, update and file photo and video content.
  5. Provide audio-visual assistance during events.
  6. Assist in backend operations for publishing material on relevant platforms (YouTube, Spotify, etc)
  7. Assist in bringing innovation to the storytelling experience, creating new and engaging content that leverages the potential of our purpose-built media studio.
  8. Proactively work with key stakeholders within the organisation to quickly create content that leverages events in the media cycle.
