Job Details Job Location: Headquarters - Hagerstown, MD 21740 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 Hourly Job Shift: 2nd Shift Job Summary: The digital press operator is expected to be able to perform make ready and independently run a variety of work on their assigned press. The operator is expected to do this in an efficient manner while adhering to all Hub Labels safety standards. As well as the use cameras, any other web scanning device, and other designated quality checks to ensure all produced labels are up to Hub Labels quality standards. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities Duties/ Responsibilities: General Press Operator · Performs all duties with safety and quality as the top priorities · Uses spectrophotometers, AVT/ web scanning device, and all Hub Labels SOPs to ensure all produced labels adhere to quality standards · Pushes buttons, turns handles, moves controls and levers to start printing machine or manually controls equipment operation · Loads, positions and adjust unprinted material on holding fixture or in loading and feeding mechanisms of press · Reviews work order to determine ink, stock and equipment needed for production · Have an understanding of color theory (delta readings, LAB values, density and dot gain) · Bring any quality issues to the attention of lead, supervisor, or manager. · Cleans and lubricates printing machine and components using oil, solvents, brushes, rags and hoses · Removes printed materials from press, using hand truck, electric lift, or hoist and transports them to designated staging area · Operates printing press in accordance with established Hub Labels procedures/training · Performs other tasks as assigned · Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor or any other manager · Adherence to Hub Labels safety rules and regulations, this includes wearing steel toed shoes and other PPE protection · Participation in all HOP programs and events Digital · Performs make readies for every job · Performs calibrations to color standards per manufacturer recommendations · Catalogs and maintains production file with accurate samples and run specs · Maintains performance log to imaged material results · Maintains equipment and standard maintenance · Maintain clean and accurate electronic art files. · Maintain accurate file database on all assigned projects · Maintains department documents- daily log statistics · Will assist in daily/ weekly Color Profiling and maintaining Digital press specs to manufacturer’s standards · Will assist in daily/weekly equipment calibration tests to ensure all equipment is functioning properly · Performs weekly inventory checks on consumable materials HP · Receive and inventory all consumables · Maintain consumables inventory and work closely with purchasing for inventory orders · Perform general routine maintenance to press · Schedule and work closely with techs on all other repairs/ upgrades · Send and receive broken/ new parts (uptime kit) · Work closely with GMDC to ensure correct gaps, GMDC auto registration mark, and measurements Hub Labels offers general benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with company match, Life, and Disability. Must have good organizational skills Education & Experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED Successfully complete the Hub Labels Apprenticeship Program Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Specific sight requirements include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear The employee is frequently required to walk and/or stand for extended periods The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with mechanical assistance The work environment is that of a manufacturing facility. Conditions change as the outdoor climate changes.
