REQUIREMENTS:

  • Min 5 years proven experience in a product role.
  • Qualifications in marketing, project management, web development or behaviour science preferred.
  • 3 years+ experience working within Agile frameworks and with Agile teams.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaborators to deliver on key initiatives.
  • Ability to act as a mentor and coach to other Product Owners and Business Analyst on the team.
  • Evidence of leading a digital project from initial concept through to launch.
  • Good understanding of digital technology and its evolution.
  • Analytical thinker comfortable making data driven decisions.
  • Work experience in a financial services company an advantage but not essential
  • Proficient in all MS suite of tools

Responsibilities

Vision and Strategy

  • Contribute to the development of Business Strategy. Develop a backlog of critical initiatives to help deliver against the business strategy, ensuring the backlog is achievable and understood by the product professionals on your team.
  • Establish a Strategic Product Framework that supports the delivery of that Business Strategy. This framework will be developed and implemented within Digital but must be a framework that can establish a product-led way of working for the entire organisation.
  • Gather the vital collaborator agreement to ensure the Strategic Product Framework is embedded within the organisation.

Accountable for prioritisation of strategic backlog.

  • Help establish the right product management processes. For example, agree with the team members on what goals should be used to manage the products, how the product strategy work is done, how often the product strategy and roadmap are reviewed, how the right critical metrics are selected, and how product backlog refinement is carried out.

People Leadership

  • Lead a team of Product Professionals (circa 7 people).
  • Develop the individuals on the team. Help them get better at product management and grow as product professionals.
  • Remove impediments the team members face and act as an escalation partner for problems the individual product people cannot solve.
  • Set clear expectations and agree on specific, measurable, and outcome-based goals.

Processes

  • Work with the Squad Scrum Master to mature our Agile WOW in line with the Product Management Framework.
  • Establish processes for MVP identification, incremental value driven delivery and measuring success at Stop, Continue, Pivot moments.

Collaboration

  • Work with business leaders from across RSA to understand their needs and drivers and also promote the Customers viewpoint with those same leaders.
  • Continuously improve collaboration across multiple functions within RSA to deliver better results for our customers.

Market

  • Responsible for supervising the Irish Insurance landscape to understanding market trends enabling the development of unique product propositions for our customers.
