The Underground Drilling Division within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a market leader in providing industry-leading drilling solutions for our customers in the underground mining and tunneling industries. We work in close co-operation with the sales areas within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area, to provide the best possible service to our customers. We have strong customer focus and safety as core values. Our operations are located in Tampere (Finland), Lyon (France), Winnipeg (Canada), Jiading (China), and Pune (India).
We are now looking for a Digital Products Manager to lead our digital products to the next era, support integration of those to our equipment and other Sandvik digital offering. The position is essential in our journey towards more intelligent equipment and developing new solutions to support processes of our Mining and Tunneling customers. Furthermore, this is a global role within our division and aims to build smooth cooperation between various sites and across other divisions within area of digitalization. The position is full-time, permanent and located in Tampere (Myllypuro).
Your mission
As a Digital Products Manager Your priority will be to understand customer needs and industry trends in both short- and long- term and convert them into clear product visions and offering strategies. These will create the basis for clear value propositions and narrative of our digital offering towards customers. These are also setting targets and requirements for the new product development. Furthermore, you will act as a business case owner and project sponsor for such new product and feature development activities within Digital products. Finally you will successfully commercialize new ground- breaking products to the industry and build up spectacular marketing case studies around those.
In addition to direct digital product ownership, you will support equipment product managers across our division to identify business opportunities and customer value from integrated digital solutions to our intelligent equipment. These can be as an example performance reporting or various data driven onboard solutions. At the same time, you link Underground drilling offering to other division’s offering and secure clear message towards our customers of the full digital offering within the Business Area. Harmonization of the offering across product divisions will add value going forward. This part of the role will be built on superior cooperation and stakeholder management.

Your main responsibilities

  • Proactively collecting and understanding customer needs and industry trends.
  • Technical and commercial ownership of the digital products during their full lifecycle.
  • Customer value proposition and key selection criteria of the products.
  • Create, develop and maintain the product portfolio, specifications, presentations, costing and pricing in various IT systems and ensuring those are aligned throughout the offering.
  • Technical and commercial support for selected strategic customer sales opportunities.
  • Competitor monitoring and analysis of the competitive landscape.
  • Initiate, define high level requirements and sponsoring of new product development projects.
  • Prepare and conduct Product trainings and other product presentations.
  • Digital products spokesperson in on various interest group meetings, conferences and trade events.
  • Support and guide rest of the organization to understanding our digital offering and though this collectively increase the customer value.
  • Act as Underground Drilling link to the other digital offering in Sandvik divisions.

Your background and what we find important
We are looking for highly motivated, innovative and customer focused leader with previous experience from leading digital offering or other relevant Product Line. You have also experience in team leading, project or other stakeholder management roles. By education you hold a university degree preferably within the area of mining, business or engineering studies. Previous experience in working within mining industry and product line is considered beneficial but not mandatory. Travelling is a natural part of your job and work language is mainly English.
You enjoy working in an international business environment and have solid- hands on capabilities to work with different stakeholders, such as customers, sales & marketing, engineering, and finance. Energetic personality with a positive mindset along with excellent presentation and communication skills are essential to succeed in the position. Leadership skills are essential to lead virtual and/or project teams and collaborating with multiple other Sandvik divisions and stakeholders.
