Devon Energy is seeking a Digital Security Professional with 2–4 years of experience in Information Technology, with a specialization in network or security. This role will focus on safeguarding Devon’s digital assets by applying advanced principles in network security, incident response, and security tool management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network infrastructure, security controls, and proactive threat mitigation. Key Responsibilities: Apply principles and practices in security domains, including Information Assurance, Incident Response, Security Operations, Cloud Security, and Threat Intelligence, with a focus on network security. Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation strategies. Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into network and cloud environments. Work with team leads to monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, ensuring effective communication and coordination during response efforts. Develop and maintain incident response plans and network security documentation in accordance with best practices. Utilize scripting and automation to enhance network visibility, auditing, and misconfiguration detection. Stay current on evolving cybersecurity threats, network security technologies, and best practices. Contribute to the maintenance of security documentation, policies, and procedures. Ensure the safety of company data, systems, and employees by implementing robust network security measures. Education: Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience: 2–4 years of relevant IT experience with a focus on networking and security principles. Experience with network design, configuration, and security controls (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS). Understand the layers of the OSI/TCP-IP model. Industry experience in Digital Security, Information Security, Industrial Technology or related fields preferred. Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA Security+, SANS (GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, GPYC), Cisco (CCNA Security, CCNP Security), Palo Alto Certification, or equivalent. Competencies: Strong oral and written communication skills. Results-oriented with a commitment to continuous learning. Digital literacy and business acumen. Active learning and adaptability. Problem solving. Programming and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
