About the role We’re seeking an experienced Senior Vendor Analyst to lead the management of strategic IT vendor relationships across Essential Energy. This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end commercial, contractual, financial and performance management of IT vendors, ensuring strong value for money, service excellence and alignment with organisational strategy. Working closely with Procurement and technology leaders, you’ll provide expert advice on vendor performance, contract negotiation and renewals, financial management, and supplier improvement initiatives. You’ll also play a key role in shaping technology vendor roadmaps and maintaining strong awareness of emerging market trends to support informed decision‑making. This is a permanent opportunity and can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint. Key responsibilities include: Manage strategic relationships with defined IT vendors Negotiate, renew and administer IT contracts in line with procurement frameworks Monitor vendor performance against service level agreements and defined standards Lead vendor due diligence and capability assessments Manage financial performance of IT contracts to ensure value for money and cost optimisation Develop and maintain vendor current‑state and future‑state roadmaps aligned to business needs Lead vendor improvement initiatives, including incident, risk and issue management Establish and facilitate strategic supplier forums to assess market capabilities and emerging trends Ensure compliance with software licensing obligations and internal governance requirements Provide specialist commercial advice to stakeholders across technology and procurement teams About You You’re a commercially astute vendor management professional with strong analytical skills and proven experience managing complex IT service delivery arrangements. You’re confident influencing stakeholders in a fast‑paced, enterprise environment and bring a collaborative, outcomes‑focused approach. You will bring: Extensive experience in IT vendor and contract management within large organisations Strong knowledge of procurement frameworks, contract negotiation and performance management Demonstrated experience in financial, compliance, risk and issue management Proven ability to analyse vendor performance data and drive continuous improvement Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills Strong planning, organisational and reporting capability Required Qualifications Advanced Diploma of Government (Procurement and Contracting) or equivalent demonstrated experience Why Essential Energy Essential Energy provides employees with a broad range of employee benefits through our corporate partnerships with organisations such as Qantas, Optus, NIB and Mildura Health Fund.
