Be part of a legacy of excellence and growth with sg360°! Our company is seeking a Digital Supervisor who is responsible for supervising digital pressroom personnel. Issues job orders in accordance with work schedules. Supervises all Digital pressroom operations during an assigned shift to ensure production schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational efficiencies are met. Provides leadership to press crews, coordinates workflow, resolves production issues, and ensures equipment, materials, and personnel are effectively utilized to meet customer and company expectations. Responsibilities: Responsible for shift operation, product quality, housekeeping and facility management. Check with prior shift for any press or running problems, communicate the same to incoming shift. Check press log and shift change notes for information about orders currently on press. Inform maintenance or HP of needed repairs using a maintenance request form or placing service calls to HP. Ensure equipment is properly manned, assign duties to floor help, supervise support depts. Assist in resolving job ticket or pre-press problems, provide change notices as required. Review Layouts from PM’s and estimating, for both in-line and near-line processes, and check for accuracy to the ticket. Resolve printing or finishing problems on orders being manufactured during shift, document as needed. Check time stamps and readers, color OK's, and samples. Monitor register, color, folds, glue, die cuts, perfs, scoring, and other specs and adjust as needed. Ensure that all safety mechanisms are in place and functioning and that personal protective equipment is used by all shift personnel. Meet material waste and spoilage standards, and maximum running speed for a particular order. Train all crew members on press systems, equipment, equipment safety features, set up, and all auxiliary equipment. Ensure that routine maintenance is performed on all equipment as required. Provide customer assistance on color OK's, questions or problems, on site or by phone. Inspect time stamps and insure they are pulled at proper intervals. Audit shift production reports at end of shift, document all problems that occur during a shift. Provide positive or negative feedback to personnel as situation requires. Pass out checks, track vacations, layoffs, requests for time off, etc. Update records as needed. Seek assistance to resolve problems via telephone regardless of time of day or shift. Other duties as may be assigned by the Plant Superintendent. Requirements JOB SKILLS:* Above average English oral and written communication skills and math skills. Above average interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to anticipate, analyze, and solve press and personnel problems. Ability to use measuring and calibration equipment. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Superior knowledge of press systems and controls and in line finishing equipment Superior knowledge of the technical aspects of the printing process. EDUCATION & TRAINING: Minimum of a high school diploma, degree in management or business a plus. Trade or vocational school training helpful, equipment manufacturing training helpful. Safety training as required by OSHA regulations. Operation of the Segerdahl Data Collection System, and all documents used in the pressroom. Application of Segerdahl policies, procedures and regulations related to personnel or operations. Operation, set up and maintenance of all press systems, auxiliary equipment, and in-Iine equipment. EXPERIENCE: Ten to fifteen years of experience in a web printing facility, at least five years of 1st Pressman experience. Prior experience as a pressroom shift supervisor helpful. General experience in using a computer. TRAVEL: Minimal local travel may be required for meeting, trainings, and/or other business-related purposes. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 50 pounds.
