Description

Description
Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support rapid-response research and development (R&D) in various secure laboratory environments, focusing on mission-critical SIGINT and RF collection challenges. This role involves leveraging in-depth expertise in developing prototype solutions to exploit digital signals from overhead SIGINT and other RF collection sources, tailoring tools and techniques to prosecute high-value targets as required by mission operations. The DSP Engineer will work in dynamic, classified lab settings, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions under tight timelines. The role demands technical expertise, adaptability, and a strong ability to align DSP solutions with mission objectives in a secure environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years related experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years related experience. Additional experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital signal processing, with a focus on SIGINT and RF collection systems.
  • In-depth expertise in developing prototype solutions for exploiting digital signals from overhead SIGINT and other RF sources.
  • Strong experience tailoring DSP tools and techniques to prosecute high-value targets in support of mission operations.
  • Proficiency in signal processing algorithms, including filtering, modulation, demodulation, and spectral analysis.
  • Familiarity with RF collection systems, including overhead SIGINT platforms and related data formats.
  • Experience with rapid-response R&D, including prototyping and testing in dynamic, classified environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to align DSP solutions with mission-critical objectives.
  • Ability to work in various secure lab environments and adapt to rapidly changing mission requirements while maintaining compliance with security protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with mission stakeholders, lab personnel, and technical teams in a classified setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience incorporating synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sources into DSP solutions for enhanced target detection and analysis.
  • Experience working in secure laboratory environments supporting defense, intelligence, or SIGINT/RF missions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools for DSP development (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++, GNU Radio).
  • Familiarity with X-MIDAS
  • Familiarity with SIGINT-specific tools, frameworks, or data formats (e.g., NITF, STANAG).
  • Experience with cloud-based or high-performance computing environments for signal processing in secure settings.
  • Knowledge of mission-specific security standards or frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF, or IC/DoD compliance).
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments to support rapid prototyping and delivery in classified contexts.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement prototype solutions to exploit digital signals from overhead SIGINT and other RF collection sources to support mission operations.
  • Design, optimize, and tailor DSP tools and techniques to prosecute high-value targets, ensuring alignment with mission requirements and operational priorities.
  • Analyze and process digital signals from diverse RF sources, developing algorithms and methods to enhance signal detection, collection, and exploitation.
  • Collaborate with lab teams, mission stakeholders, and intelligence analysts in secure environments to define requirements, prototype solutions, and deliver actionable capabilities.
  • Adapt DSP solutions to evolving mission needs across multiple lab locations, addressing technical challenges while adhering to strict security standards.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and optimization of DSP prototypes to ensure performance in classified, mission-critical environments.
  • Integrate DSP solutions with existing systems and platforms, ensuring compatibility and operational effectiveness.
  • Document technical designs, signal processing methodologies, and prototype performance to support mission continuity and compliance with security protocols.
  • Stay current with advancements in DSP, SIGINT, and RF technologies to inform R&D efforts in a classified context.
  • Incorporate synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sources into DSP solutions to enhance target detection and mission outcomes.
