Description In the role of Dining and Events Assistant you will support the daily operations of dining and events at Academy Mapleton Hill. This position assists in the coordination of front-of-house service, event preparation, and administrative functions to ensure smooth operations and an exceptional dining and event experience for residents, guests, and staff. Benefits 401(k) Matching Holiday Pay Paid Personal Leave Employee Health & Dental Insurance Life Insurance Short & Long-Term Disability Insurance Responsibilities The specific duties and extent of responsibility of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist the Dining Services Managers with daily front-of-house operations, including set-up, service, and breakdown Ensure dining areas are clean, organized, and well-prepared prior to each meal service Support the training and onboarding of new dining staff, ensuring adherence to AMH service standards Maintain and restock front-of-house supplies (linens, plateware, glassware, uniforms, etc.) Monitor table settings, cleanliness, and service quality throughout meal periods Support meal reservation and POS system updates and troubleshoot guest seating or service concerns as needed Communicate effectively between dining, kitchen, and management teams to ensure seamless service Serve as a welcoming representative and public-facing presence for Academy Mapleton Hill during events, which may include introducing programs, engaging attendees, and supporting speakers or performers Assist the Dining Services Managers in planning and executing in-house and community events Coordinate setup and breakdown of small and large-scale events, ensuring accuracy of layouts, décor, and timing Collaborate with the Culinary Team to ensure event menus, beverages, and service details are properly executed Maintain event supplies inventory and assist with ordering as needed Support communication between internal departments and outside vendors or planners Help manage event schedules, staff assignments, and post-event cleanup Maintain organized records for dining and event operations, including schedules, inventories, and training logs Support staff scheduling, shift coverage, and communication through Paylocity or designated platform Assist with data entry, reporting, and general administrative duties as requested by the management team. Solicit feedback from residents and guests and relay concerns or compliments to management Practice AMH’s Service Standards in all interactions and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information Qualifications Fluency in English with effective verbal and written communication Restaurant / bar / hospitality experience Effective verbal and written communication skills; personable with a good sense of humor Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled to support AMH dining operations and events Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office; must include Word and Excel. Empathy toward the elderly and to geriatric issues and challenges Education and Experience College associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field Extensive experience in restaurants, with the ability to execute and train high-end dining standards
