In this Dining Services Supervisor role, you will serve as manager on duty overseeing dining operations, leading and directing a diverse group of staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of related foodservice experience, including operational & staff supervision
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills and experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suites
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal & customer service skills
  • Ability to take initiative, and work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience working effectively with diverse populations
  • Proven success in building a positive workplace culture
  • ServSafe Manager & Allergen Awareness Certifications preferred
  • Food safety, OSHA and CPR training desirable
  • Valid driver’s license
    The Dining Hall Supervisor opportunity is a full-time contract role (through at least end of the year) on site in Amherst. The schedule is Sunday – Thursday 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. but may vary from time to time due to catering and special events so occasional evenings and weekend hours are required. Responsibilities
  • Assist with staff training, hiring, performance evaluations, coaching, problem resolution & job descriptions
  • Ensure the operation is secure, organized, safe, and clean during service and at the close of business
  • Provide limited supervision, including reporting issues, concerns, and/or emergencies through the appropriate channels and to the Manager of Dining Services
  • Perform inspections of Stations and Service areas in support of established standards
  • Manage inventory and the organization of necessary products for dining
  • Maintain the accuracy of schedules & payroll
  • Ensure maintenance of the inventory, presentation, and cleanliness of all storage areas
  • Ensure equipment used is in sound, working order; and tools used are properly cared for and stored; report all repair issues; maintenance logs are updated
  • Double-check to ensure the facility is secured after service
  • Provide support for special weekend events
