OVERVIEW

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic part time Dining Room Servers to join our team. As a vital part of our dining experience, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service while ensuring that residents have a memorable meal. This role requires a passion for food and hospitality, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods.
  • A positive attitude, team spirit, and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Available to work 7 days per week and every other weekend. Shifts times are 7-3, 11-7 and 4-7.
  • Must have reliable transportation to work as we do not have any public transit in the area.

Responsibilities

Table Setting and Preperation

  • Set tables with appropriate utensils, napkins, glasses, and condiments.
  • Ensure the dining room is clean, tidy, and welcoming before meals.

Meal Service

  • Greet residents warmly and assist them to their seats if needed.
  • Take meal and beverage orders accurately, accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Serve meals in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Refill drinks and respond promptly to additional requests.

Resident Interaction

  • Engage with residents respectfully and kindly; build positive rapport.
  • Assist residents with limited mobility or cognitive challenges as needed.
  • Ensure resident dignity and comfort during mealtimes.

Clean Up

  • Clear tables and clean the dining area after meals.
  • Sanitize tables, chairs, and service areas according to health standards.
  • Help with dishwashing and kitchen clean-up if required.

Communication or Reporting

  • Communicate resident feedback or concerns to supervisor or Kitchen Manager.
  • Report any noticeable changes in residents’ behavior, eating habits, or physical condition.
  • Follow food handling and hygiene protocols.
  • Ensure meals are served at safe temperatures and meet health code standards.

Team Work

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff, dietitians, and caregivers.
  • Participate in staff meetings or training sessions as needed.
