Company Description The wage range is $27- $28 hour Maravilla is Santa Barbara's award winning Retirement Community. Come join the BEST! Job Description This is a full time position. This position works primarily lunch/dinner shifts. MUST be willing to work weekends and holidays. Shift is usually 11:30am to 8:00pm. You will assist in supervising wait staff in preparing dining room for meals, in serving meals to residents and guests, and in servicing dining room after meals. Essential Duties: Ensure that wait staff dresses in designated uniforms that are clean and pressed. Make sure menus are posted daily. Assist in establishing staffing schedule; monitor staffing schedule; and fill in when gaps in staffing exist. Confirm that dining room personnel extend exceptional customer service in seating residents, presenting menus and specials, answering questions, and making suggestions regarding food and services. Make sure that tables are promptly and properly bussed. Ensure that tables are cleared and reset in a timely and appropriate manner. Directly supervise employees in the dining room. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (General Educational Development); or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in hospitality, residential, or club dining rooms preferred. First aid certified. Must become Food Handler certified within first 30 days of employment. Must successfully complete California Responsible Beverage Service Training Course within first 30 days of employment. Prior experience as a supervisor in a fine dining setting is preferred.
