JOB SUMMARY

DIO RD USF operate within a centralised Head Office at RAF Wyton and 2 regions East and West which span 6 major sites: RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall in the East Region and RAF Alconbury, RAF Croughton, RAF Fairford and RAF Menwith Hill in the West Region. DIO RD USF is responsible for supporting the USVF in the UK in the delivery of works; developing and implementing DIO/US Civil Engineering joint policy and procedures and undertaking Estate Stewardship on behalf of the Secretary of State to ensure the estate is Safe and Legally compliant.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Assurance Support Officer to become specialised in the MOD/DIO/USF Assurance Facility Management arena. The assurance support role will be situated at RAF Lakenheath, with a requirement to travel to RAF Mildenhall for regular assurance coverage. The role is interesting and challenging with no 2 days being the same. It will provide a daily sense of achievement in accomplishing our teams’ outputs in the exciting arena on a busy USAF fighter jet and refuelling base. This is a great chance to get your foot in the door in a Facility Management career with good prospects for promotions.
Support execution and delivery of the DIO Maintenance Contracts for Planned, Reactive Maintenance and Additional Works through effective assurance to ensure a compliant estate is delivered and maintained. Support DIO management of maintenance contracts and additional works to provide maximum service delivery achievement for USF customers.
Carry out an effective, stepped approach to assurance, reporting and progressing non-compliance, managing risks, and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to resolve issues.
Supporting the Contracts & Assurance Team in carrying out assurance in several areas. Covering the auditing and scheduling of the SFG20 Maintenance Schedules, Works in Progress, and joint EM02 assurance checks with our customer, across RAF Feltwell, RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall, and Military Family. Relevant training will be provided for all the above tasks.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
