DESCRIPTION

Are you looking for a change? Then look no further we have the place for you! This is a little bit about us: We prioritise positive workplace behaviours and have created a team culture where people can thrive. We will support you, not only with a wage that enables you to pay the bills, but where you are given planning time each week so that you can actively contribute to the program and your ideas and passion can flourish. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of professionals in a purpose built large light filled environment with abundant resources and beautiful outdoor yards. AND we have the most delightful parent community that is welcoming and supportive in every way! The children, well they are adventurous, inquisitive, curious and kind and can’t wait to have amazing adventures with the lucky person who will join our team. We are seeking: A Qualified educator (Diploma minimum, experience desired) with a real passion for children aged 3-5 years. The successful applicant will join us in our long day program, and will work in collaboration with a Bachelor lead educator in the delivery of our highly regarded Waratah program. This program is truly unique in that it operates alongside our funded sessional Kindergarten program. You will have periods of time with smaller age specific groups as well as time with a larger mixed age group. You will be part of a larger professional team in the delivery of a program that focuses on and celebrates children’s strengths. This part time position (29 hours per week) works a set roster including a mix of open and close shifts across the week. The predictability in your work arrangements enables you to plan your life -whether that be a regular night at the gym or the much sought after long weekend away. Current arrangement of hours are as follows:

  • Tuesday: 12.30pm – 6.00pm (5.5 hours)
  • Wednesday: 7.30am – 4.00pm (1/2 lunch break) (8 hours)
  • Thursday: 8.30am – 4.00pm (1/2 lunch break) (7.5 hours)
  • Friday: 9.00am – 6.00pm (1 hour lunch break) (8 hours)

The successful applicant will be paid under the Professional Community Standard 2021. This is a collective agreement which sits well above the Children’s Services award in conditions and rates of pay. Our Centre also pays wages above this. Depending on how long you have been working your commencement rate would be between $39.171 and $40.42 per hour. We are also planning to apply for the Worker Retention Grant which would see you hourly rate increase by 10% of the CSA rate. Casual work/additional hours are also available for those that would also like to work on the Monday as well. Casual work will attract an additional 25%. If this sounds like it is the position you have been looking for then we would love to hear from you! Please send through your resume containing your qualifications and your work history. We would love a cover letter to accompany your resume that tells us a little bit about you, your pedagogy and passion and what you are looking for in your next work place. If this looks like it will be a good fit with us we will contact you to arrange a tour. Whilst you are looking around we can have a chat and you can meet some of the team. As a not for profit Centre community based Centre the last step will be a more formal interview with the Committee of Management.
