Description JOB SUMMARY The Director of Security (DOS) leads the Club’s security team, developing and implementing a security strategy to protect the Club’s members, personnel and assets. A visible and engaging presence, not unlike a School Resource Officer (think “Officer Friendly), the DOS works both on-stage and behind the scenes to ensure a sense of safety throughout the IHC campus. The DOS works closely with the Clubhouse Manager to ensure proper channels of communication remain open, interviews and, along with the Clubhouse Manager, hires and trains security personnel, and works closely with the Management Leadership Team on a continual basis. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, using security technology, collaborating and maintaining good relations with law enforcement and maintaining a strong security culture. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ø Maintains a visible, yet unobtrusive, presence throughout the Idle Hour Campus, including member areas (particularly parking areas) and staff areas Ø Assists in planning and implementing visible security procedures for special club events and banquet functions Ø Assures effective orientation and training for new staff, with an emphasis on “Hospitality Security” Ø Assures that staff are always in proper uniform Ø Staff and schedule security personnel to budget guidelines Ø Ensures adherence to company policies Ø As directed, politely ensures people on campus are members (for example, night tennis/pickleball youth play); politely but firmly runs off trespassers Ø Addresses member, guest and employee complaints and advises the Clubhouse Manager about appropriate corrective action taken Ø Serves as an ad-hoc member of the House Committee Ø Attends management and staff meetings as scheduled Ø Performs all other duties as directed by the Clubhouse Manager or General Manager REPORTS TO Clubhouse Manager
