We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Provider to join our team in providing exceptional care and assistance to children and adults with special needs in their home and out in the community. The Direct Care Provider will work closely with clients to support their daily activities, facilitate their personal goals, and enhance their overall quality of life. Providers will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where individuals can thrive and reach their potential. **If you are interested in this position please either include your email address on your resume so that we may get a hold of you, or double check that notifications are on from Indeed.** www.etipser.com Responsibilities: · Assist clients in performing daily activities, such as personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility, while promoting independence and self-esteem. · Collaborate with clients and their families to understand and work on person centered care plans, focusing on achieving specific goals and milestones. · Provide emotional support, companionship, and positive reinforcement to clients, creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere. · Document clients' progress, behaviors, and any notable observations accurately and comprehensively. · Monitor and address any changes in clients' behavior, health, or overall well-being, reporting concerns to the appropriate staff. Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, special education) preferred. · Previous experience working with children and adults with special needs, either in a professional or volunteer capacity. · Strong empathy, patience, and communication skills to effectively connect with individuals with diverse abilities. · Understanding of various developmental, behavioral, and medical needs associated with different disabilities. · Basic knowledge of therapeutic techniques and strategies for supporting individuals with special needs. · CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). · Fingerprint Clearance card (or willingness to obtain). · DCW Training for attendant care if applicable (or willingness to obtain). Physical Requirements: The position may require physical activity such as lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility. The ability to get up quickly or run after a client who is a flight risk.
