KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• General knowledge of developmental needs (intellectual, emotional, physical and social) of children and youth;
• Appreciation of children and adolescents’ needs for stable, consistent caring from adults;
• Demonstrated skills pertinent to the management of children and young adults in a residential setting;
• Ability to relate appropriately to young people and their families;
• Basic knowledge of Stewart Homes policies, procedures and guidelines.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Broad Record Check (a vulnerable sector check that includes release of other information)
• Health assessment and proof of required immunizations - prior to commencement of work
• Child welfare record check with CAS
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination required (3 doses) - prior to commencement of work
• Driver’s license is required; G or G2 for a minimum of 1 year
• level C CPR and Standard First Aid – from a WSIB approved provider
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention - or willing to become certified
