This is a full time, permanent position. Schedule for shifts subjected to change based on needs of programs, however schedules are given two weeks in advance This position requires a dependable candidate who is flexible in their schedule, works well independently, and has exceptional communication and decision-making skills. Float DSPs are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes. Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating. Prepare meals and snacks. May include grocery shopping. Perform housekeeping and laundry duties Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices. Assist with transportation needs for community outings, appointments, and errands Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalating challenging behaviors when needed. Gain health care experience to further your career. Qualifications 1+ years of DSP/Caregiving experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is required. Must have valid driver's license & vehicle to travel between programs and provide transportation to clients Must be able to work a flexible schedule Must be able and willing to learn different supports, from medical to behavioral Have a passion to help others through person-centered care Works well independently Dependable, adaptable, and flexible Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
