In this critical role, you will provide essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting them in achieving their personal goals and improving their overall quality of life. Your responsibilities will include helping clients with daily living activities, fostering independence, and encouraging active participation in their communities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will make a meaningful impact in the lives of those you serve, building relationships and offering care that empowers individuals to thrive. Key Responsibilities Assist individuals with personal care tasks, meal preparation, and daily living activities. Encourage and facilitate participation in community outings, social activities, and skill-building exercises. Implement and monitor care plans specific to each individual's needs and preferences. Document client progress and provide feedback to team members regarding changes in behavior or needs. Ensure a safe and supportive environment by adhering to all health and safety guidelines. Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support. High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in social services or related fields are a plus. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and their families. Ability to approach challenges with patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community activities. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as necessary. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained soon after hire. Flexible Schedule.
