Mon Yough Community Services is seeking to hire multiple caring and dedicated employees at various locations! The Direct Support Professional provides direct care to intellectually disabled adults in a 24-hour supervised living arrangement, ensuring their safety and well-being while treating them with respect and dignity. The role involves promoting independence and community integration by helping residents develop everyday life skills. Responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality standards, assisting with transportation, meal planning, budgeting, medication administration, socializing, and attending doctor visits. Support is provided according to each resident's Individualized Support Plan, helping them face daily challenges and opportunities with the assistance of dedicated staff. Locations: · North Huntingdon · McKeesport · Port Vue · Elizabeth · West Mifflin Shifts will include daylight, evening/night, overnights and variable shifts. All shifts will likely include weekends. Flexibility is key as this is a residential program that may require overtime beyond scheduled shifts. Hires for this position must have a High School diploma or GED, as well as a valid driver's license. Prior human service or caregiving experience is preferred, but it not required. Responsibilities: · Recreational Activities: Plan, organize, and attend activities with transportation plans. · Resident Files: Maintain knowledge of all resident files and plans. · Staff Development: Complete 24 hours of staff development annually. · Diet Assistance: Help residents follow balanced or doctor-ordered diets. · Appointments: Accompany and assist residents. · Daily Living Skills: Teach and assist with hygiene, cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc. · Emergency Response: Stay calm and supportive in emergencies. · Resident Monitoring: Ensure residents' safety and well-being. · Household Chores: Perform regular cleaning tasks. · ISP Adherence: Follow individual support plans. · Medication Administration: Administer medication as trained. · Emotional Support: Provide guidance for residents' growth. · Administrative Tasks: Handle cash, file paperwork, and attend meetings. · Computer Skills: Use various software applications. · Safety Monitoring: Report hazardous conditions. · Attendance: Maintain regular attendance and stay awake during shifts. · Transportation: Operate vehicles for resident transport. · Program Development: Assist with client program documentation. · Professional Conduct: Work independently and maintain professionalism. · Quality Support: Provide consistent support, including CPR and first aid. · Environment Maintenance: Keep the environment clean and safe. · Financial Assistance: Help residents with banking and budgeting. · Paperwork: Complete all required paperwork timely. · High school diploma or GED required. · Prior human services experience preferred. · Must have a valid PA driver's license and meet the guidelines to be accepted on the agencies vehicle insurance policy. · Upon hire, provide a current physical and Mantoux test, and then ongoing as required by the Department of Public Welfare (DPW).
