Responsibilities
  • Successfully complete Driving and Vehicle Safety class offered through Quest and obtain approval to operate large capacity vehicles (10-12 passenger vans and wheelchair busses). Comply with all DOT regulations and local laws relating to operation of a vehicle. Drive large capacity vehicles to provide transportation to individuals living in the home to/from training center, medical appointments, home visits, and any community outing OR/
  • Successfully complete medication administration course and maintain current validation certificate. Comply with all 65G-7 regulations and Quest procedures related to medication administration. Administer prescribed medications, monitor self-administrations of medications, follow protocol for disposal of medications, maintain medication count, and communicate with pharmacy as needed.
  • Treat all people with dignity and respect, ensuring all personal rights are met including communicating in a friendly and professional manner with all people, including individuals in the home, coworkers, visitors, and customers.
  • Implement active treatment, training programs, behavior plans/protocols and service goals including, but not limited to areas of self-help, daily living, social skills, leisure activities, and community inclusion for all individuals in the home.
  • Document all required information pertaining to programs, leisure activities, health status, personal care needs, and other communication applicable to individuals in the home. Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide positive social and leisure interaction to all individuals in the home regularly throughout the day.
  • Safely lift, transfer, and reposition all individuals in the home as outlined in daily schedules. Use of proper body mechanics and correct physical management techniques to reduce risk of injury to self or others. For individuals with medical devices such as tubes or bags, exercise caution to prevent injury or damage.
  • Ensure safety for individuals in the home during mealtimes. Follow correct procedures for each individual, including but not limited to, preparation of food, diet textures, dietary restrictions, adaptive mealtime equipment, and feeding assistance.
  • Aid with personal care for all individuals in the home as needed including, but not limited to, toileting, bathing, dressing, and hygiene needs.
  • Monitor and report any issues related to the personal care and medical needs of people in the home as well as any needs for wheelchairs or adaptive equipment.
  • Offer choices for all individuals in the home throughout the day, encouraging as much independence as possible.
  • Complete housekeeping duties daily to ensure a safe and clean environment. This includes but is not limited to washing dishes, changing, and making beds, laundry, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, mopping and sweeping.
  • Observe health and/or safety issues, both for individual(s) or in the environment. Take appropriate action to correct or report the issues.
  • Report all incidents of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the Abuse Hotline (1-800-96-ABUSE).
  • Follow all emergency procedures during a drill or emergency.
  • Ensure adequate supervision of individuals in the home. This may include staying past regularly scheduled hours until staff arrive for the next shift or back-up staffing is arranged.
  • Report to work during inclement weather to ensure adequate supervision and care of all individuals in the home. This may include sheltering in place during a hurricane.
  • Attend all required trainings and monthly staff meetings.
  • Follow all Quest policies and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as assigned
