OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Group Home Manager, the DSP-Residential provides support, skill development and related services to the residents at the South Street Group Home. Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Residential implements Residential Treatment Plans, participate in the day to day activities with the residents, and support the operation of the group home. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.0 DIRECT SERVICE Participates in daily skill building with residents relative to personal care, independent living, and community involvement. Ensures compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Uses a manner of speaking consistent with adult interactions that convey respect and encourage independence. 2.0 PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AND DEVELOPMENT Participates as a member of interdisciplinary team. Assists with treatment plan development, attends staff meetings as directed by supervisor. Provides case management as assigned. Serves as advocate for the residents. 3.0 RECORDKEEPING Maintains all documentation required by policy and procedure. Submits documentation for payroll, client records, incident reports, and other daily functions in an accurate and timely fashion. Maintains medical administration certification. Documents in protocols in an accurate and timely fashion. 4.0 HOUSEKEEPING Performs housekeeping and cleaning duties as assigned. Promptly reports problems with facility, furnishings, vehicle, or grounds to supervisor. * In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related human services field preferred.
